Things are a-changin’ in this years X Factor. Auditions are performed in front of a large, live audience, results will be revealed in a dedicated Sunday night show and Dannii Minogue has the most fabulous new haircut!

Simon Cowell has revealed that he is confident the new elements will work (well obviously not Dannii’s haircut, thats one we threw in for fun). In a recorded slot for today’s press launch Simon admitted that he liked the all new format but he hedged his bets saying ‘If it works, it’s down to me, if it doesn’t, blame Louis!’

That sounds good to me, I never liked Louis anyway.

ITV1 bosses also revealed today that the Sunday episode will include “more ensemble performances” and “bigger guests”. We will also get an insight into what the ensuing 24 hours have brought for the competitors.

Speaking about the all new live audience auditions, ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell compared the atmosphere to “being at a rock concert”.

“We are spreading The X Factor over two days to make it an X Factor weekend and we think it will be a real benefit to viewers,” she said.
