Simon Cowell insists book is ‘unauthorised’ – ITV bosses ‘furious’ about Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole revelations!
Simon Cowell is frantically trying to save face, after a book written about his life hit the headlines this week.
The X Factor boss allowed writer Tom Bowers access to his inner circle and even granted the author hours of personal interviews while he was compiling his biograhphy. However, this week he has been splashed across all the British newspapers, after Bowers claimed that he had carried out an affair with Dannii Minogue during her early days on the ITV show and pursued Cheryl Cole, though never responded to his advances.
PR Guru and Cowell’s representative Max Clifford has admitted that he advised Simon not to speak with Bower, as he had a feeling the sh*t would hit the fan, when the book made all it’s revelations and it was known that the music mogul had passed at least some of the information along.
All the kick back, from the ladies involved and fans of his shows, prompted Simon to hit Twitter last night and insist:
“This book is not written by me. It is unauthorised. The writer is Tom Bower.”
It has also been reported that ITV bosses are furious with Cowell, the man behind The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and Red Or Black, because of all the negative attention he has been receiving.
Many of the claims and shocking stories contained in the biography, centre around his time on or behind the scenes of one of the ITV shows and it is said that executives are particularly unimpressed that news of him picking on Little Mix and bawling out Gary Barlow have been made public.
“This whole week has been like an ongoing car crash. There is a great deal of consternation here,” an ITV insider told The Mirror.
“These are really rather lurid stories that don’t reflect well on Simon.
“And they certainly don’t help when we are producing family shows like BGT and X Factor. Quite the opposite.
“We can’t quite fathom why he would co-operate with such a book. It’s baffling. I’m sure he will explain to us in the fullness of time.”
Dannii Minogue is reported to be ‘distraught’ over all the revelations and the implication that she used her affair with Cowell, to not only land a place on The X Factor but to get what she wanted when on the show. The timing couldn’t have been worse for the Australian star, who only recently announced her split from baby daddy Kris Smith.
Cheryl Cole is said to feel ‘totally betrayed’ by her former friend too and it’s reported that the former Girls Aloud star has sworn never to work with Simon again.
We can’t wait to see what comes out of the book next!
