Simon Cowell has been singing the praises of his fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh, saying that he is ‘the funniest person I have ever met.’ Note to Simon, that really doesn’t come across on TV. In fact he seems like a grumpy, sour old git on the ITV talent show.

Simon told The Daily Star: “He is one of the funniest people I have ever met in my life. “I always say to Louis: ‘I want to be you for an hour of the day. I just want to feel what you feel which is constantly optimistic and happy.’

“I say this to him all the time: ‘If you had a tail you would wag it.’

“He’s just happy – wag, wag, wag, wag, wag. “Wherever we are, whatever is happening it’s like: ‘Are you happy
Louis?’ and he says: ‘I’m loving it.’

“That just sums him up really.”

Louis returned the comment, saying:

“When Simon walks into the room I just start laughing!”

“He has this effect on me. He has this face on him or he looks over and I start laughing.

“If someone comes on the show and he thinks they are funny, I can’t look at him because if I do we just start laughing and we don’t even know why we are laughing so hard.”
