Big hearted X Factor boss, Simon Cowell, has become the first celebrity patron of brave Katie Piper’s charity.

Katie, you may recall, was featured in a Cutting Edge film for Channel 4 last year which told her brave battle back to health after being the victim of an acid attack.

Since then, Katie has dedicated herself to helping others cope with facial disfigurement, and will feature in a new Channel 4 series entitled, Now Katie: My Beautiful Friends.

She has also established a charitable foundation to raise funds for specialist burns and scar rehabilitation, called The Katie Piper Foundation.

Simon has pledged his support to the foundation, and said of Katie, “Katie is one of the most inspiring people I have met.

“What she is doing with the foundation is incredible.”
