Simon Cowell to replace Steve Jones with two hosts on X Factor USA?

Simon Cowell is said to be considering returning to his original idea of a two host format for the upcoming series of X Factor USA.

The music mogul originally planned for Steve Jones to co-host the show with Nicole Scherzinger, when the format launched in America last year. However, after he sacked Cheryl Cole, Simon promoted Nicole to the judging panel – from which she has since been sacked – and Steve flew solo for the live shows.

Earlier this month, Cowell revealed that he had axed Jones, Scherzinger and judge Paula Abdul from the 2012 series and is now on the lookout for replacements.

Some sources have suggested that he will now look for two presenters to front the Fox talent show when it returns in September. The insiders told TV Guide that there is no word yet on who the stars will be, but it is most likely that they will be American, as Simon recently admitted that he had perhaps overdone the British contingent on the 2011 series.
