Simon Cowell Unhappy With Strictly Come Dancing Scheduling

Simon Cowell - X FactorX Factor boss, Simon Cowell, has spoken out against the BBC today, criticising their decision to air Strictly Come Dancing at the same time as the X Factor.

“I did hope that this year the BBC – knowing we would be on air on a Saturday again – would have considered putting their show on at a different time,” Cowell told the Daily Star Sunday.

“People love both shows and it is stupidity to keep putting them on at the same time. But sadly it’s an obsession with the BBC to go against us. It’s becoming stupid. The BBC is not a commercial company like ITV. Why not give the viewers what they want? They want to enjoy both shows – it’s not fair on the viewers.”

Cowell also criticised BBC for posting the names of the X Factor finalists on their website before they were revaled on last weeks show.

“We pay their wages through the BBC licence fee. We do not pay them to ruin people’s enjoyment of TV shows,” Simon explained. “It’s incredibly stupid.”

I suspect the real reason Simon is peeved is that as both shows are popular the viewing figures for the Saturday that the x factor was not in its prime slot was the X factor 7.5 million and strictly come dancing 7.4. Very little in it also I suppose that if the X factor fails to deliver a quality programme viewers will switch and as a result the revenue won’t be there from viewers votes.
