Simon Cowell wants Demi Lovato back on X Factor USA & Ryan Seacrest to guest host?
Simon Cowell is busy firming up the lineup for his new series of X Factor USA but it seems that one former judge will most likely be returning.
L.A. Reid confirmed at the end of the 2012 season that he would not be back, revealing that he wanted to return to his job as CEO of Epic Records on a full time basis. Britney Spears revealed in January that she was also stepping down, meaning that Cowell has at least two seats to fill.
Demi Lovato’s place on the panel has not yet been confirmed but in a recent interview the music mogul revealed that he wants her by his side for the new run, admitting “we’d be crazy not to have her back.”
Simon was speaking during Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and insisted that he wants the ‘Heart Attack’ hitmaker on board for the 2013 season and explained:
“I liked having Demi on the show……she’s fun to work with.”
However, while Lovato has revealed that she is in negotiations with Fox bosses about her pay and contract, SiCo insisted:
“Nothing is official yet.”
The TV boss had better get his finger out and get moving, as the first round of auditions for the hit talent show started this week and before you know it, he and his three co-workers will be required to judge the whittled down hopefuls.
“We’re talking to people all the time and hopefully within a couple of weeks we might announce the first two,” said Cowell of the judges panel.
Tryouts began yesterday in Los Angeles, Calif and as yet, Cowell hasn’t even confirmed who will be hosting the show. It is thought that Mario Lopez will be back, though Khloe Kardashian’s future looks shaky.
Ryan Seacrest and Simon have been pals since they worked together on American Idol and while the DJ and host is committed to the rival show for at least one more season after its current series ends, he is hoping he could make the crossover and appear on The X Factor with his old friend at some point.
“Would you allow me to guest host one live X Factor?” he asked the SYCO boss, before admitting that he misses their teasing and banter.
Cowell immediately replied ‘yes’ before asking if Seacrest would be promoting Pepsi (the X Factor sponsor) or Coke (Idol’s backer) if he agreed to take part.
