It seems that if Louis Tomlinson or Harry Styles ever get sick of singing, their old boss Simon Cowell could get them lined up with a new job pretty quickly.

The music mogul was speaking at the launch of the new series of X Factor USA in LA last night and revealed that he would love to have some of the One Direction lads as guest judges on the Fox show, admitting that he has his favourites from the bunch.

Simon always was a fan of the cheeky chappies and admitted that he thinks Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson would be the best fit for his panel

Of course Cowell knows all the lads well, after all it was he that hand picked the five singers and formed the band at X Factor bootcamp back in 2010. 1D are now signed to his record label and making millions for the TV boss every year.

Monsters and Critics reports that Cowell snubbed Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan yesterday, when he revealed which of the young singers he’d like for his new series. He said:

“It would probably be between Louis and Harry.”

However, the lads may lose out to their Irish bandmate Niall Horan. He recently took Simon’s X Factor co star Demi Lovato out for dinner and it seems that meal may sway things in his favour.

“Demi, you would probably choose Niall,” Simon joked.

Meanwhile One Direction appeared on The X Factor Australia this week, as they assisted Ronan Keating in mentoring his groups and choosing the best of the bunch for the live shows next month. The lads met with the former Boyzone star in London over the summer and filmed the scenes in a Camden club.

Harry Styles took a shine to one of the ladies of girl group ‘Black Ivory’ and after he admitted that he ‘loved’ Briden Starr the blonde beauty was subjected to massive online hate and even a number of death threats. Perhaps Simon shouldn’t have him as a judge on his show….we pity the poor girls if Harry so much as smiled at them on air!
