Simon Cowell’s brother says Rihanna WON’T Be On X Factor 2011

Simon Cowell’s brother Tony has quashed rumours that Rihanna will be joining the music mogul’s new X Factor panel.

The radio DJ and TV showbiz correspondent is Simon’s elder sibling and has been bombarded by desperate fans on Twitter, constantly trying to find out who will join his brother on the new American version of the singing show.

In response to one follower, who asked for confirmation on reports that the ‘What’s My Name’ singer would be joining the lineup, Tony tweeted:

Just to be clear re Rihanna for US X factor panel: How? she starts UK tour on Oct 5th!!!

And on who he would like to see alongside Si Co he added:

You keep asking me who I think will be on the US X Factor panel.so here is MY choice Paula Abdul,Nicole Scherzinger,Tommy Mottola and S..

Turning his attention to the UK X Factor, Tony also admitted that if the panel does contain one member of Take That, he’d rather see Gary Barlow but suspects Simon will choose Robbie Williams. He wrote:

I would go Gary too…but something tells me it may be Robbie! Just a hunch of course! x

It’s ridiculous to think that anyone like Rhianna, Cee-Lo Green, Robbie Williams, or Katy Perry would be a judge on X Factor. All of these artists have currently active careers, and this show in particular, as Simon points out, is a tremendous commitment, with the judges having to mentor the contestants. There should definitely be another music business mogul, like Tommy Mattola, an artist who has not been active in awhile, like Paula Abdul, and a singer/songwriter who has been off the recording industry radar, like Shania Twain. As they are discovering once again on Idol (the first time was with Ellen last season), it’s about expertise, not starpower. Those who are only on the panel because of their name value will not give honest critiques, because they don’t want to risk losing their existing fanbase, and also because they have no idea what is good from a business point of view.

Tony (Simon’s HALF brother) knows as much as we do, he is just grabbing at Simon’s coat tails for self fame. Unlike Simon he is not a very nice person at all.

  3. Jordan says:

Glad that Rihanna isn’t a judge. Disagree with Tony, no way should Paula be a judge, we’ve seen it all before. Shania should be the judge, she has experience and has the full package!!! SHANIA FOR X FACTOR!!

  4. Susan says:

What does any one see in Rihanna?

  5. Jacob says:

Can someone twiiter Tony and ask him if Shania Twain will be a judge, like Jordan I would love her to be a judge.

Nicole Scherzinger is my choice with Paula Abdul. Basically anyone except Cheryl Tweedy Cole.

Is there any need for you to Cheryl bash on this article, are you using every article to make your opinion known about her? she’s not even mentioned in the article, so why do you have mention her, I know you don’t like her but you don’t need to say it on every article,

I personally think the judging panel on these shows should be made up of the actual music business people. Mentors need be from an educational music background.

I don’t approve at all in using any of the so called celebs because they are not really into the act of judging because of there own vested interests as performers or rather strippers, because lets face it they are more like strippers or pole dancers than actual singers.
