Simon Cowell’s mum has said that she wants him to marry sooner rather than later.

The 50 year old X Factor judge is reportedly engaged to 36 year old Afghan-born Mezhgan Hussainy. His mum Julie, a former dancer, said:

“Turning 50 has made him reassess his life.

“We’re friends with Michael Winner, who recently got engaged at 73. I’m going to tell Simon not to do a Michael on me as I won’t live that long.”

After Simon moved Mezhgan into his LA mansion, Julie told Hello! magazine: “Although girlfriends have stayed with him in the past, he has never done that before. This seems to make it official.”

“Now I really think marriage and fatherhood are going to happen.”
