Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp praises X Factor’s Rylan Clark & Ella Henderson – Tulisa supports Jade Ellis
Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp has given his backing to camp singer Rylan Clark.
The X Factor hopeful faced quite the bashing from judge Gary Barlow after he sang the band’s hit record ‘Gold’ on the ITV live show earlier this evening, but Martin thought the version was actually quite good.
Gaz blasted Clark and his fellow judges saying:
“I said no to you at the first audition which means [pointing at judges] you should all be ashamed of yourself. Nicole, you had five amazing singers in your judges houses and you chose Rylan?’
However Kemp was more positive and took to Twitter to praise the former model, writing:
“#xfactor. Rylan…..well done dude…. Great version……!”
That’s Gary told!
It seems that Martin is also a Ella Henderson fan and the former Celebrity Big Brother housemate praised the 16 year old singer’s version of Rule The World too, tweeting:
‘#xfactor Ella you are the best……… You’re on your way! Loved it! Beautiful!’
Meanwhile, Tulisa Contostavlos has insisted that there is only so much she can do to help her X Factor contestants.
The former N Dubz star loved Jade Ellis’ performance on tonight’s show but hit back at a viewer who claimed that the mum of one could be in trouble on tomorrow’s results show, because she has had less coverage in the press.
Contostavlos insisted that her responsibility to the singers only stretches so far, explaining:
“At the end of the day, even though it’s my category, everyone has their chance on the stage to shine and they have to do everything in their ability to shine up there.”
Speaking on The Xtra Factor she added:
“Whoever is meant to stay in the competition is meant to stay and as much as I love all three of my girls, I’ve got to leave it to them, I can’t change the press attention or who the media is more drawn to. They have got to show what they can do up there. I think Jade really proved herself up there tonight. I think she sounded amazing, she looked amazing, and that’s all she can do.
“Hopefully that is enough for the public to warm to her and take her through to the next round.”
Did you enjoy Jade’s performance tonight? What about Rylan and Ella? Do you think they are safe from elimination tomorrow?

Unfortunately the ears and the eyes of an aging Singer, are probably less capable to judge!
