Street Warden Clifford Farrell Is Hoping To Go Far In The X Factor!
Camden Street Warden Clifford Farrell can be caught on tonights X factor show trying to impress the judges with his reggae style!
He said: “I was a singer back home – I am from Montserrat, a small island where I was a firefighter – and I used to do concerts there and I sang in the church choir.
“I sing all the time: in my home, in the car, when I am working I always burst into singing.
“And people are always running over and saying ’sing for us’.
“Everyone was telling me I had a brilliant voice and told me I ought to go for it.
“I love all sorts of music – pop, soul and reggae, everyone is really behind me.”
Mr Farrell continued: “When I first saw all those thousands of people I thought I had no chance.
“I haven’t been selected yet but the next audition is on Saturday. I am in the older group but everyone thinks I am in my 30s.
“I wasn’t scared of the judges; they haven’t got two heads on their bodies so why should I be afraid? I think they liked that I am not nervous of anything. I wasn’t trying to be anything else. I am just myself.
“They said they all wanted me in their group, even Simon.”
Mr Farrell is now focusing on reggae to get him over the last hurdle and is hoping his toned physique will also sway the judges.
He said: “Sharon was impressed by my muscles and so was Paula Abdul.
“I wanted to sing reggae in the beginning but I didn’t know if they would like it.
“For the last audition I sang reggae though and Simon said I should stay with that because they hadn’t had a reggae singer through before.”
