Terry Christian calls Simon Cowell smug

Celebrity Big Brother’s Terry Christian has branded Simon Cowell “smug”.
DJ Christian is not a fan of the music moghul and thinks that people are falling at his feet for all the wrong reasons.
Speaking on TV show ‘The Funny Side Of TV Talent’, Terry blasted: “Simon has the demeanour of a bloke who is suffering from an overly kissed behind. It’s just like, ‘Tell me I’m great again… I know.’
“The reality is there are some awful records he is responsible for. In fact, every record he is responsible for is absolutely horrendous.”
Terry then turned his attention to Simon’s fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden.
He said: “It’s a good formula. Two uber-smug blokes and a woman with a paralysed face.”
‘The Funny Side Of TV Talent’ airs on BBC2 tomorrow.

Is Terry Christian Jealous?
Who is Terry Christian?
I am a fan of reality TV programmes where individuals who have got talent can get the opportunity to make real progress. Without these reality based talent shows there would be nothing with the glamour and razmataz they offer. Remember, the days of the talent scout touring the country in search of talented people is gone, adding to the pages of musical histories of those lucky enough to have made it via this route.
‘The long and winding road’, does not put bread and butter on the table as a singer, you have to have a plan B and at times of austerity a plan C to just survive. Any artist with talent knows this is true and because it is the situation, may well be appreciative of shows like this where they can get heard.
This is the beauty of reality tv talent shows, it provides an avenue of performance, marketing and promotion you could not otherwise afford to do.
I watched the programme and found it all a bit to critical, its time to acknowledge that here we have two distinctly different company objectives.
The first, is that of the television company attracting viewers, voters and puting on a show that raises revenue. The second, is that of the music industry which attracts the talented and the talentless to an audition. Remember, the talented and the talentless form a contrast for the viewers and is regarded as good television. In fact the reality tv talent shows are so good they are award winning every year.
The audition costs the auditionee money to travel, overnight stay, flight maybe, food, clothing to look good, and music, some have invested in a music career so the audition costs will have been calculated and allowed for in the auditionees budget. Working artists can claim all of this as an expense set off against tax. Other auditionees will have only spent the cost of travel.
The music industry by encouraging auditionees to come forward saves themselves the cost of employing talent scouts and the additional costs that go with it.
The music industry has changed a lot in the last 20 years. Artists who want to succeed have no choice but to do more for themselves. So if someone comes along and dangles a 1 million pound carrot you’d be tempted to enter such a competition talented or not.
