The Voice Results: Sam Buttery’s exit interview – ‘I tried to be a fun person’ (VIDEO)
The 21 year old singer failed to impress the viewers, with his rendition of ‘A Little Respect’ on last night’s live show and after receiving the lowest amount of public votes along with fellow singers Matt and Sueleen, Tom Jones chose him as the unlucky act going home tonight.
Speaking afterwards to presenter Reggie Yates, Sam explained that he tried to bring the ‘fun’ to the BBC show, saying:
‘I try to be a fun person and I’ve had such a fun time.’
Buttery dissolved into tears, as Jones revealed that he had performed for the last time on The Voice stage, however he soon composed himself and insisted that he has big plans for going forward.
“When I got the news I was just thinking, I won’t get to work with Tom anymore but then I thought this isn’t going to be the end for me, because I’m not going to let it be the end. Whether people want me on their screens or not, I’m going to be on their screens.
I feel like I am meant to be doing something and I hope it happens. I am so grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
