The Voice UK: First look at 5ive’s Sean Conlon auditioning for Jessie J (VIDEO)
We recently reported that singer Sean Conlon tried out for The Voice earlier this year and today, we have our first picture of the former boyband star, giving his best shot at a return to the spotlight.
The former member of 1990’s band 5ive showed up to the blind auditions for the BBC show in London this January and performed for Jessie J, Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue.
However, none of the stars knew who they were listening to and in the end, the former celebrity was disappointed when not one of the coaches spun in their chairs and picked him for their team.
Insiders previously claimed that Sean was desperate to move on from his boyband image and 5ive history and wanted to showcase his own musicality. He accompanied himself on piano, while singing for the panel but ultimately it wasn’t enough.
Jessie later admitted that she was gutted when she found out who had been singing, as she used to be such a huge fan of Conlon’s, when his career was at it’s peak.
Since Five broke up in 2001, Conlon has been working on a solo career as an R&B, jazz and soul singer and pianist in the cafés of London.
