Will.i.am has been bitching about The X Factor again!
The Black Eyed Peas star will make his TV judging debut this Saturday night, when The Voice launches on BBC One and the new series has pitted itself right up against Simon Cowell’s popular talent show Britain’s Got Talent.
Will and his fellow judges – Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue – have spent the last few months, trying to differentiate their new show from ITV’s The X Factor, claiming that it is more credible and focused on real talent.
In a new interview with The Radio Times, Will was asked if he ever watched The X Factor and insisted that he didn’t and though he has enjoyed performing on the show on a number of different occasions, he has a real problem with how the bosses treat some contestants.
The music star said:
“No. “I like performing on it and I like when the real talent emerges.
“But I don’t like it when they use acts purely for comedy value when they don’t deserve the exposure.
“We don’t do that.”
We can only assume then that the American singer is not a fan of acts such as Jedward, Goldie Chueng, Wagner and Johnny Robinson, who let’s face it never made the live stages of the ITV show for their amazing vocal skills!
We love the fact that all four of the new The Voice judges put their money where their mouths are and took to the stage to perform as a supergroup, at recent auditions in London.
Check out the video of Will, Jessie, Tom and Danny performing ‘I Gotta Feeling’ here.
Also, we’ve brought you some great previews of some of the acts you can expect to see when the series kicks off on Saturday, including Belfast girl Jessica Hammond, alopecia sufferer Toni Warne, former Strictly Come Dancing singer J Marie Cooper and Five Star’s Denise Pearson.
Watch a great promo for the new series and tell us, are you looking forward to The Voice? Will you be glad to see the back of the comedy acts as Will.i.am has promised? Leave your comments below…
