It seems that the X Factor judges really are looking for original contestants this year and won’t be plumping for their usual mix of look and sound alikes.

It has been reported that Tulisa Contostavlos impersonator Ashley Whitelaw got the boot from the ITV show after she showed up to the Glasgow auditions and sang a song from the former N-Dubz star.

Ashley was invited to sit at the judge’s table for pictures after she belted out Tulisa’s hit single ‘Young’, however she failed to get the backing of the panel members when it came to putting her through to bootcamp.

The brunette beauty is furious with show bosses and insists that they strung her along and told her exactly how to behave, and ultimately set her up to fail at the Scottish tryouts.

The performer – who works full time as a Tulisa lookalike – blasted:

“I’m raging they made me sing that song. They made it look like I was just there for her. I have a decent voice but they were only interested because I looked like Tulisa. They wanted a reaction.”

She seemed more positive when writing on Facebook though and added:

“At least I got to sing in front of 6,000 people and the judges. It was a brilliant experience meeting them.”

Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh recently promised fans of the ITV show the ‘best’ bunch of contestants yet, insisting that there would be a lack of novelty acts, karaoke singers and talentless wannabes.

Barlow also predicted that the older contestants will shine on the live shows, which may be down to the fact that he is mentoring the over 28′s this year.
