No, but it was his older brother Derane that auditioned on tonights X Factor.

You could be forgiven though for thinking it was Lemar as the two could be twins. However Derane insists that he does not look like his brother, but that Lemar resembles him, as he is 4 years older than the Fame Academy runner-up.

His audition didn’t go as well as many would have expected. In fact his voice was a bit of a let down to the judges who obviously expected a phenomonal performance.

When it came to judgement time, Simon Cowell said that he liked Lemar, but Derane was not as talented and so it was a NO. Louis Walsh said that although he hadn’t thought the performance was wonderful, he thought that more talent lay beneath and so YES. Sharon Osbourne wasn’t overly impressed with the audition either but liked Derane’s speaking voice and based on that she followed Louis’ lead and allowed Derane to join this years final 50 contestants in boot camp.

Derane said that Lemar had offered him lots of advice on the world of showbiz and really supports him in this venture. We’ll see more of Derane and the other finalists in just two weeks (1st of October) when the show begins to focus on this years bootcamp and the process of elimination leading up to this years live shows which begin on the 15th of October.
