What Did You Think Of Tonight’s X Factor?
So the second installment of X Factor 2008 has just aired and we would love to get your opinions on this year’s series so far.
Do you think we will end up with another Leona Lewis this year, or like Jonathan Ansell do you think the whole concept leans too heavily on sob stories and human sympathy.
On tonight’s show we saw Alexandra Burke revisit the show with a fantastic rendition of ‘Saving All My Love For You’. and we heard 15 year old Eoghan Quigg impress the judges with the great Eric Clapton classic ‘Tears In Heaven’.
But it wasn’t all good, and after Phil Blackwell almost burst our eardrums with his ridiculously long winded wailing we found ourselves faced with the black hole of Holly Jervis’ mouth.
So who did you love, who did you hate and who did you fancy? As always leave your comments below, or over on our forum where we are all discussing tonight’s show.

i thought eoghan was class hes from dungiven sur lol
where all supporting wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think there is going to be more talent this year which will liven up the live shows. But please cut the sob stories they are unneccessary.
About yesterday’s x-factor show (23rd August 2008)
People should not just believe everything the x-factor
“judges” say
Holly Jervis is an excellent professional singer with her
own style, a great personality and a fantastic voice
She is different and she is confident and determined
The size of her mouth does not change the fact that she has
what it takes to be a good singer!
Any producer/agent who has seen the show will be running to
sign her up as an artist
it is clear that the x-factor is a show, taking people who
may have talent but most importantly for the judges, will
allow themselves to be marketed as the judges see fit
Holly quite naturally wants to be herself and that is why
she was subjected to those shallow comments about her
mouth.
Would the judges say the same thing to Tina Turner who
also has quite a big mouth and is an excellent singer if
she went on the x-factor to compete?
Anyhow, Holly Jervis will be soon where she wants to be.
Best of luck to her!
I think eoghan was absolutely amazing and he can count on all of dungiven’s support! i might be a bit biased because he’s a friend of mine but i honestly think everyone should be on the look out for this boy – he’s gonna go far!!
love ye quiggy!
Holly Jervis is my cousin…thank God we don’t share the same last name. I’m soooooooo embarrased!
Oh.My.God! I can’t believe Holly Jervis! How arrogant and up herself is she? It wouldn’t be such an issue if she could actually sing, but she can’t. What a nightmare.I’m embarrassed for her.
I think Holly has a good voice. She was much better than some who have made it to the boot-camp. The judges get it completely wrong, at times.
The only thing that Simon got right was that Holly’s mouth was too big when she is singing. My singing teacher taught that the gap between the teeth should just be enough to grip one’s forefinger. I’m sure this technique would change her tone to produce a better sound. There is not very much wrong with her voice. It’s a good voice, but it just needs tweaking.
Singing at a holiday camp isn’t training, unless you have already been taught the correct technique from the beginning. Holly has talent. I would urge her to take lessons with a good singing teacher; one that would improve her tone; and go back to X-Factor next year to let them see the transformation.
Holly Jervis was appalling ! How on earth can anyone think she was good. She was arrogant, gobby and utterly awful. People who are writing good things about her are obviously her friends or deaf !
So there is no arrogance in assuming that everyone who disagrees with your opinion is deaf or a friend?
SO SHOCKED AUSTIN IS OUT!! PLEASE PLEASE GET HIM BACK IN HE IS AMAZING AND ITS HEARTBREAKING, HOPE THATS NOT THE LAST OF HIM!!
