What’s with the Laura White spam?
OK, Laura White was an X Factor favourite of ours last year, and we were totally devastated when she got booted off the show. You may remember that the scandal surrounding her departure, and how it got mentioned in parliament.
Now, Laura has released her first single You Should Have Known, and it’s a pretty good pop record. Really, go and look it up on YouTube.
However, over the last month or two, Unreality TV has been swamped with spam from so-called ‘fans’, urging people to go to YouTube, Laura’s official site or her Twitter account. We’ve seen this class of low-rent marketing tactic in the past, but real fans don’t go and leave spammy comments all over the place.
Now, we at Unreality TV genuinely believe that Laura White deserves to have a successful pop career. We just don’t agree with the tactics some people are using to promote her single – whether that’s her management or a bunch of fundamentalist fans.

its most likely coming from sources linked to the applause store……..they are massively promoting her with regular emails to their members. (not surprising at all really though considering the owner of applause store is her longstanding boyfriend matt)
Read the comments on You Tube and you will see that it is from her fans – we are really disappointed that she is not being played on air. It seems like a conspiracy against her by the big guns in the industry???
I’m guessing they are using this site because they know alot of people who watch reality tv come on here. Alot of those who liked Laura last year don’t know she has a single out, so they are using different sites to promote. I’m guessing you aren’t publishing them which probably makes the fans comment again and again.
If they want to advertise, i say let them, what harm can it do publishing just one of their comments.
I suppose there is a possibility that it could be fans. She did get a petition of 50,000 people 12 months ago, so i guess some people will still be keen. The truth will be discovered if her single hits the charts (or not), apparently it’s out this week, but I only heard it by accident and I imagine the success of the single will depend on just how many ‘fans’ are actually out there doing all these alleged ’spammy’ attacks.
By the way, I quite liked the song myself.
