Speculation is rife that Laura White may already have been reinstated on the X Factor.
The Sun reports that Laura told fans in a London street, “Don’t worry, I’m going back on the show.”
An online petition calling for Laura to be taken back onto the show has received more than 35,000 signatures so rumours suggest that this, and the general outrage over her being voted off, has made X Factor bosses rethink the situation.
X Factor bosses have released a statement today however denying all rumours, a spokesperson said:
“There were absolutely no issues with the phone lines or the voting system which is subject to rigorous procedures and protocols. Our viewers vote for the act they want to keep in the competition and last Saturday, Laura White and Ruth Lorenzo received the least number of votes. There are no plans to bring Laura back to The X Factor.”

No, no, no. You get voted off, you stay off. You possibly should never have been in the bottom two but if you’re there, you have to abide by the rules of the competition or there is no point to the voting system.
If she is that popular, a record company will take her up, release a CD and if it sells, that’s the best possible refute to the voting.

The issue that needs addressing is why it was not put to deadlock.
The judges whose acts are in the bottom two should not bother voting as they always vote for their own act, which is not what the sing off is about in this series it is about who is the better in the sing off – a point that was made at the start of the live shows but does not appear to be adhered to by the judges in charge of the acts in the sing off. Louis needs to be aware it is about singing and not about who he thinks has got the most fight as he stated last week. The X Factors credibility is at stake as I believe unless it is done in a fairer manner people will start to switch off.
Well I think its safe to say that x-factor’s views will hit an all time low. I think perhaps simon voted for Ruth in the hope that louis and cheryl would save Laura leaving it to go to dreadlock. I think it was evident that simon was as unhappy as the public as he did a disapearing act when Louis gave his decision.Hes a clever business man and he knows this is tv suicide. I think the reason Daniel is still in is he is attracting a larger fan base to the watch as the older generation seem to like him because of his personal life. But none of these people will buy his CD so its stupid really.Simon cant do what he wants to do which is find a good talent and make money. The only people that dont want Laura back in are the people that have other favorites and dont want competition which is what x-factor is supposed to be all about. X-factor is a fantastic program but the british public can be very strong headed and I really do believe that the x-factor will lose alot of viewers is Laura isn’t brought back as many people love her and what she does.
I dont think Laura should have ever left this early on in the show…. she is one of the most talented on there and im gutted she has gone!!! Bring her back…..
I think laura did not deserve to leave xfactor but know she has i dont think they should bring her back because if they dont it for one person its not fare on another people that get booted off.
Laura is definately one of the most talented we have had on X Factor, and should never have been voted out so early. However, i do not think they will allow her back on as that is like admitting they were wrong, which they will never do. If the phone lines were fine on the night then the main people to blame for Laura getting voted off are ourselves the british public. I must admit I never voted on saturday as I didn’t watch it live due to being out. I thought she would be safe as she is so talented which is how unfortunately sometimes people get in the bottom two. Laura has a fantastic future ahead of herself anyway. My dad met her in a recording studio not long before she auditioned for X Factor and loved her. So he asked her for a copy of a couple of songs she wrote herself, which I have to say are fantastic! This is not the last we have seen of her! Gauranteed!!
I was absolutely disgusted, when Laura was voted off, it should have been Daniel, he is playing on the viewers sympathy about his wife, lets face it, he will never make it as a recording star, he is just suitable for Karoke in a pub. With regards to the girl, who was unable to perform on Saturday night,she should have been automatically disqualified. Now to Louis Walsh, he should not have voted Laura off, the vote should have gone back to the people, Louis is afraid of the competition for his group, who are middle of the road, Laura is a star.

I am So annoyed about laure white, being voted off, I mean first scott, then austin and now Luara. What are this years veiwers doing voting for Daniel hes only getting the sypmpathy vote because his wife died during birth ino its horrible but its not fair to kepp getting voted for just because your wife died. Please bring laura back she was one of the strongest out of the whole competion.
i think they should bring laura back, she is the most talented girl in the show. i thought the x factor was intending on finding the best singer in the competition. i didnt realise it was a popularity contest. louis made a big mistake cos he is jealous of cheryl and the fact she is going 2 win. Im sorry i like the girl, BUT her first performance was awful. Her voice is loud and Not suitable for the song req.
As anyone looked at the auditions? i thought she was on ‘Tonight Mathew im going to be…’ why try to copy the original stars . I would ask her to be herself and not mimic pop stars.
She will be a hit but not on x-factor
Take her away from all this and let her sing her own songs in her own style, and she will go on to be big.
Just remember there have been better people voted out of x-factor over the years and never had so much air time. Is this becuase she already had a contract and needs the publicity?

I think it was both tactical and personal with Louis, girls aloud sacked him and he also knew Laura would be marching straight to the finals.I think the views and fans got complacent and thought she would be safe and did not vote cause i for one was one of those people and i regret it deeply.
Week in week out Laura has been world class and Louis has even said to Ruth that she does not have a huge voice like Laura, he has also even said to ruth that she does not have the voters. Ruth has also been in the bottom 2 before but yet he keeps ruth over Laura, stupid man. He should be sacked. This is no longer a talent contest but a chance for judges to get one over each other.
Maybe the fairest and most transparent way to do it would be for the number of votes to be read out each week, and whoever has the least votes to leave each week.

i was talking to loads of people and they all agree that laura is undoubtly the best actor/performer and tbh its all lies. laura was in a catregory of her own she was pitch perfect and her song was just breath taking. Dianne is worse than laura and tbh RACHEL SHOULD GO!
I”m Happy with the judges for making that choice she is so boring and I can never understand what she is saying when she sings, she was very overrated they gave her more chances and press coverage then anyone else and then she got too big for her boots so after the story came out about her boyfriend being an executive she said I never said anything because I’m a very private person, well being photographed with hardly any clothes on and then having pictures taken of her and her boyfriend kissing each other in his car when the whole world and press are watching everyone knowing dam well what they were up to in the car for 1/2 an hour and being photographed partying together and shooting out to the public in the street I’m coming back on the show I DON’T CALL THAT PRIVATE!! DO YOU ?? She was crap last week and wasn’t really playing the piano because when she got up to sing the piano carried in playing itself that’s why the public voted her out. The show is not fixed people just don’t like her…
I WORK IN THE STUDIO – SHE WILL BE COMING BACK. This week we have take that and Leona as well so it will be a packed show.
Sure Laura was one of the best singers but once you get voted off… You get voted off!
At the end of the day neither her nor Ruth should have been in the bottom two but Ruth’s performance of Knocking of Heavens Door blew Laura’s out the water!

But I do agree, why are they getting rid of the best acts first? (Scott, Austin and THEN Laura!??) There wasn’t even a crap act in between like say, Rachel or Daniel. God knows what’s going on with this show.

I was very shocked and upset that Laura was voted off the show, that it made me feel that what’s the point of watching it again. To me you should keep the best singers on for their talent instead of being voted on for their sob stories or just because they come from a particular area then we could have a fair competition. My pesonnal view is when it comes to the bottom two it should be down to the public vote and not the judges, to keep it fair, as last weeks programme proved that this doesn’t work.
if an athlete has an injury and doesn’t run he doesn’t expect to win, so therefore diana didn’t sing and should therefore forfeit the right to continue in Xfactor, which is why it is unfair that laura got voted off, no-one should’ve got voted off until all contestants sing. if laura isn’t reinstated then diana shold not appear on x factor now that is fair. also i thought this was about talent not sob stories, why is daniel still there
The judges Simon and Louie voted off laura so there acts have more chance to win.
The xfactor has lost all credibility. I won’t be watching it anymore as its more about the judges than the singers.
Laura was voted off, she should not come back, no matter what the reason, what about Scott, and Austin. When it comes to the final 2 , they should start with Louis and end with Simon, maybe Simon might make the right choice, or else they should just leave that to the public’s vote, the one with the fewest votes, goes home, simple.
I think that it would not be fair to allow Laura to be reinstated on the show as it cannot be one rule for one and another rule for everyone else. You must follow the rules unfortunately. I do however, believe voting her off was a big mistake! Laura has been one of the best contestants to enter the show and as for the battle between her and Ruth, the voting was completely unfair! Laura didn’t see the need to do a massive bellowing ballad like Ruth did. In all honesty, Ruth bores me and i hope she is voted off this week!
The issue that should be addressed is the fact that Diana is allowed to continue with the show. I do love Diana and she is one of my favourites but she was caught partying a few nights before the live show and was reported to be screaming and shouting. Did she not do the show because it was Mariah week and perhaps she just wasn’t able to adapt to her music? Who knows?!
Laura will remain off the show and hopefully she will either make it successfully on her own or, better luck next year! But for now, X Factor has lost the biggest talent and i hope in a few weeks the judges look back and see what a mistake they have made!
Surely when you enter X Factor you know at any stage you could be sent home and should accept this decision with dignity. I thought X Factor was about encouraging the youth of today to showcase their raw talent – and what actually surprises me is the number of contestants who already have a background within the music business and surely have an added advantage – with this in mind and the fact that they have one foot in the door of the music industry you have to question what actually has stopped them progressing ..before X factor ???? If you believe the press – Laura once had a 5 year deal with Matt Aitken and her contract was terminated in 2006 after recording just 2 singles??? Ruth has been with a ROCK BAND since the age of 19 and toured Spain for 3 yrs – (which explains why each time she is in the bottom two she sings Rock !!! ) . Alexandra – has recorded a duet with Joss Stone and Austin’s old band once supported Girls Aloud in concert in 2004 – So much for picking the raw talent off of the street !!!!! I do however admire Alexandra as she had the courage sing at the first live show despite being advised by doctors not to sing – unlike Diana who could be seen /heard shouting at a bonfire night but then pulled a sicky ….and just a few days after missing the live show she has now recovered. With regards to Rachel and Daniel – you only have to watch the auditions / bootcamp to see that there were very few applicants within this age group ….need I say more.
I love the show X factor and have respect for the judges and dont think they deserve the critism they have been getting. Everyone who is on the show / or been voted off should look at the bigger picture – over the past few months the last 12 who have got through, have had wonderful experiences and should be grateful of having the opportunity being involved in and recording a No 1 song Hero…. When voted off – they should think of this as a positive and humbled by what some others have been through…..

Laura is an amasing girl with a fantastic voice. She should not just be in the competition she should be at the forefront inspiring the others.
The result last week made a complete mockery of x factor. This is a singing competition not a judging competition.
To reinstate Laura would be the wrong thing to do but to see her top of the charts for Christmas would win back a few hearts.

Blame the people who didn’t cast votes. ITV already said (I read this somewhere) that they’re happy to give out the individual votes each week at the end of the show to ensure fairness between all contestants. I honestly think Rachel + Daniel should have gone home already, especially Rachel last week. However as Cheryl said on the show there are people who just vote for who they feel sorry for and that’s just how this show goes. Neither Ruth nor Laura were the weakest singers last Saturday, but during the sing off Ruth’s version of knocking on heaven’s door gave me goosebumps whereas Laura’s somewhere over the rainbow was just ordinary in my opinion. If the judges’ votes were based on the singoff song alone, I agree with their decision to boot off Laura.
Anyone who thinks that she should stay off the show is a complete moron and should probably listen to how laura actually sings!! Shes one talented girl, better than any of you muppets!! Bring her back I say!! Stuff the rules, they bent them for diana!! why not laura?? Now people know they have to vote for her to stay, they’ll get off there arses and do something about it!!

ITV are clearly not listening – Laura is a great talent and was robbed on the show last week I was shocked the only thing we can now do it switch off and hit the ratings that is all ITV and simon understand

Laura was crap last week I didn’t bother voting for her she is overrated and she really wasn’t playing the piano when she stood up to sing the piano playing continued on the backing track did anyone else notice!! I’m so happy she is out after seeing that her performance was not as good as Ruth’s. Ruth is a hot sexy latin lady with a beautiful rock voice she was bottom 2 because she is from Spain and the British public have not voted for her enough but I think they will start to vote for her more now. I will be voting for Ruth she is a sexy lady and so beautiful and classy.Laura is a chav with no class and a voice you can never understand when she talks or sings, she is as common as muck!! What show were we watching tonight Diana Vickers was chronic this week ,Laura last week was far better and she was tactically voted off.Fair play to Rachel and well done people in her position deserve a second chance and she is taking hers .Good luck Daniel it was only a matter of time. Louis Walsh had a personal vendetta against you .Go JLS you are the best by a mile and get my vote every time
