Today’s News of the World claims that Simon Cowell has said that 2009 may be the last time he’s involved with the X Factor.

It seems that Simon is finding it “exhausting” to keep up his role in the show as well as his roles on American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent.

He’s quoted in the paper as saying, “It looks like I’m only going to be doing it until 2010. I’ve really felt it this year. When you do three shows a year it’s tiring and something’s got to give.

“I’m contracted to do one more series and then I’ll make a decision. I’ll see how I feel in the New Year.”

The report adds that Simon also hinted that judge Dannii Minogue may “choose to walk” and commented that new judge Cheryl was “this year’s real winner”.

Rumours have been circulating for weeks that Dannii and Simon have been at loggerheads during this series and these were further fuelled by Simon’s anger at a comment made by Dannii in which she claimed to have “discovered” last year’s X Factor winner Leon Jackson.

Simon’s response to the allegation in the News of the World was, “It was stupid. There was no need to have said that.”
