Three things Wales always delivers when the X Factor is in town are big crowds, big belting voices, and contestant Ceri Rees, a 51 housewife from Wales, aka “Gummy Ceri”. Having auditioned in 2005 and 2006 Ceri is hoping it will be third time lucky for her this year.

Famously auditioning in 2005, without her teeth, Ceri had told Simon to “get knotted” after the judges failed to put her through. Then in 2006 she came back once again and it was Simon that delivered the bad news for a second time. This year, with new teeth, new hair and a new image, she is on a personal mission to change Simon’s mind, “Simon was the rudest of all the Judges but since I have auditioned before I have a new look and my voice is much better than it was.”

Simon seems impressed with Ceri’s new look, “You look completely transformed, you look fantastic.”

Singing Leanne Rimes How Do I Live Without You, Simon stops her performance after one chorus, “Look Ceri, you look better but the voice has just got worse. You sound like a two year old when you sing. It’s impossible for you to win this competition”.

But Ceri is adamant that she has what it takes, “give me a second chance Simon” but Simon is standing firm, “This is the third year and every year I say to you I like you but you can’t keep coming back and squeak these songs every year.”

Will Louis Cheryl and Dannii agree, or will this finally be the last that we see of Ceri?
