X Factor bosses have scrapped plans to run a Sunday night results show, in the style of Strictly Come Dancing.

Simon Cowell had planned for a seperate results show but only if it went out live. However, this would cost ITV a further £500,000 per week and then the four judges wanted more money for the extra days filming.

A show source told The Sun: “We will be sticking to Saturday nights and staying live.”

They added: “The X Factor is not like other shows. You’ll have things like a judge walking out — like Sharon Osbourne last year.

“We could not have pre-recorded as you would miss out on all the action.”
