X Factor 2008: Watch Out For ……. Dream Time
Tomorrow night the X Factor search kicks off in Manchester and the first act up is Dream Time, a duo in the form of Nathan Miah and Elizabeth Solverson who are both 17 years old. “Our goal as Dream Time would be to top the charts, get recognised world-wide and have millions of fans” says Nathan.
As they enter the audition room they introduce themselves to the Judges, Simon asks why Nathan is holding a CD and Nathan gives it to him whilst he explains it’s a debut album he recorded last year. “How many did you sell?” asks Simon, “180 copies’ Nathan says proudly. Needless to say, Simon is not suitably impressed by this figure.
Dream Time begin their audition with a version of Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together that is too awful and too screechy for words. In fairness Elizabeth can kind of hold a tune, but Nate’s crooning really does have the potential to burst a few eardrums and let’s just say he is nowhere near pitch perfetc. (and maybe never will again!)
Louis asks what their second song is but Simon chips in and remarks “No!, that sounded like I was at the Zoo, it was beyond anything I’ve ever heard”, “it just got weirder as you went along, you sounded like you were screaming at each other’ says Cheryl. Nathan fights back and says “We have been told by our friends we can sing and I haven’t sold 180 copies of my CD for nothing”…..”And nobody returned them?” quizzes Simon.
