X Factor 2009: Dermot O’Leary Facing £100,000 Pay Cut

Dermot O'Leary

X Factor host Dermot O’leary is said to be facing a £100,000 pay cut for this years series.

Last year O’Leary is said to have been paid £1 million for presenting the Saturday night show, however this year is expected to sign a contract for £900,000.

A source told the News Of The World: “Dermot’s very likely to be back but he hasn’t signed his contract yet because he’s still in negotiations.”

ITV has been forced to make cuts across the board, by cutting wages, laying off staff and dropping unpopular shows. In the grand scheme of things a wage of £900,000 for six months work doesn’t seem too bad does it?

Considering the current financial situation in general a 10% pay cut isnt something to be too concerned about – especially when your a £1m earner!

To the likes of Dermot this is no big loss. I think it reflects the level of popularity a person has aswell.

To be honest though nobody in this country is worth more than 100k a year unless they are a scientist or brian surgeon.
