X Factor 2009: distinct lack of sob stories….

You may have already gathered that Unreality TV were at the X Factor press launch today. I think that we may have already mentioned (just a few times) that we have already seen Saturday night’s episode…..have we rubbed it in enough yet?

We have given you the run down on who we think are the ones to watch (see Danyl Johnson, Stacey and Joseph) but we also wanted to mention another, very surprising, aspect of the première show of 2009. There were absolutely no sob stories!!

Seriously. No one’s pet died, no one was suffering from PMT, depression or schizophrenia. There was a single mother, but she seemed happy to be one, there was a young boy doing it to make his family proud but he didn’t cry and wasn’t living in poverty.

Better still, all the judges seemed to be getting on. They laughed, joked and jostled. There were no sings of a bitter feud, no flying glasses of water and no hair pulling.

Can it really be? Can this year’s X Factor really be about the singing and not the story? How very refreshing.
