After opening up the audition stages of the X Factor to thousands of people, Simon Cowell is said to be keen to take theis years live shows to a bigger venue.

The Daily Star reports that Simon believes that the ITV reality TV show has out-grown Fountain Studios in Wembley, where it has been filmed for five series. Unreality TV has been in the studios on numerous occasions and would have to agree heartily with Mr C.

Simon is said to be keen on using London’s 5,000-capacity Excel centre instead.

A show insider said: “Thousands of people got to see the contestants through the audition stages and we think it may look a bit weird going from these huge theatres to Fountain Studios, which can’t hold that many people.

If we were to move to a bigger place like the Excel Centre in east London we could have loads of fans in to watch the live shows and make it more like a concert every Saturday night.”

Anyone fancy sitting in the audience?
