Brian Friedman has denied rumours that Mel B is to replace Dannii Minogue on the X Factor judging panel next year.

Speaking as the show’s Creative Director, Friedman told Metro: “I don’t think Mel B is joining.”

He also admitted that there was substantial competitive tension between the four judges this year saying:

“I think the tension was higher between the judges. Everyone was competing this year.

“They all wanted to win! Dannii was really into the competition. She wanted to win. I know Cheryl is happy. She is the youngest, the newest.”
