The Daily Star has claimed that Dannii Minogue is almost certainly going to be dropped from the 2010 X Factor series.

The show’s producers are meeting with Simon Cowell in LA this weekend to discuss the format and future of the TV talent show and insiders suggest that it is “highly unlikely” that Dannii Minogue will be invited back onto the judging panel.

It is believed that Simon and Co won’t replace Dannii and they are said to be fearful that the public will revolt against their decision to sack a pregnant woman.

An insider told the newspaper:

“Simon and his team are very wary of getting into the sort of problems the BBC has had with its female stars over age and so on.

“For that reason, the best option is being seen as reverting to the three judges this year.

“That means the seat is open for Dannii to return at a future date, although it is unlikely.”

An X Factor spokeswoman confirmed: “There is a meeting going on but it is too early to comment on what is being decided.”
