X Factor 2010: Elton John week songs revealed

November 12th, 2010 by Lisa McGarry

This week’s X Factor show will feature songs written and performed by Elton John.

It seems a strange choice, considering that the British singer/songwriter recently blasted the show telling Metro:

‘It’s become boring, a***-paralysingly brain crippling.’

The theme was confirmed by vocal coach Yvie Burnett on Matt Edmondson’s The F Factor last night and she promised an ‘incredible’ show, saying:

Elton John has had hit after hit. It’s going to be an incredible night.

Elton’s songs certainly are varied enough for the X Factor contestants and we have managed to find out a few of the tracks planned for Saturday’s live show.

Check out the list below, it will be updated as new information comes in.

Wagner Carillho
– I’m Still Standing/Circle Of Life mash-up

Mary Byrne – Can you feel the love tonight.

On her song choice, Mary said: “I’ll give it all my heart and all my soul and it might just carry me through.”

Matt Cardle – Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – He said: “I’ve had Elton John forced on me since I’ve been a little boy. It’s going to be tough to better it [last week’s performance], but I will try.”

Aiden Grimshaw– Rocket Man – He said “I’m hoping this Saturday won’t be my last song….if it is it’s going to be an act of war.”
