Katy Perry acted as a guest judge when The X Factor hit Dublin earlier this year.

The ‘California Girls’ singer managed to leave fiancée Russell Brand for two whole days, while she stood in for pregnant judge Dannii Minogue, who was enjoying her maternity leave in Melbourne.

On what we can expect from her judging style when the ITV show returns this Saturday night, Katy told The Sun:

“Sometimes people need to hear the truth. If it’s obviously not going to work out for them, ever, they need to aspire to something else.”

She later admitted that she developed a bit of a ‘girl crush’ on fellow judge Cheryl Cole during her X Factor stint. After the Dublin auditions ended Katy tweeted:

“And P.s. I wish Cheryl Cole tweeted, she was a sweeeeetie pateeetie today. (girl crush alert).”
