Katy Perry has insisted that while she enjoyed Simon Cowell’s company during her recent stint as an X Factor guest judge, she would never ‘shag’ the star.

Katy, who is engaged to kooky comedian Russell Brand, was asked by Q magazine whether she would ever sleep with the music mogul, to which she replied:

“Never! No!… Oh my God! I mean, nothing against Simon Cowell. He certainly has charisma coming from every pore.

“Simon has stopped so many suspect people from singing so perhaps we owe him a debt. But… shag him? No. I’m very happy with my charming Englishman. I have no need for another. No, not even for a permanent spot on The X Factor.

The California Girls singer went on to detail how well she got on with Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole, describing her as ‘just edible.’

Perry said: “The most gorgeous judge is Cheryl Cole. That woman is just edible. She kept calling me… what was it? Popette? ‘You’re a popette’.

“She kept saying that to me. Is that a compliment? It is? I love Cheryl. She’s got a whole other version of English going on.”
