Natalie Imbruglia acted as a guest judge when the X Factor auditions hit Birmingham earlier this year.

The Australian star stood in for pregnant judge Dannii Minogue, who was enjoying her maternity leave in Melbourne. During a chat with The Sun, the ‘Torn’ singer shed some light on what we can expect from her judging style when the show returns to our screens this Saturday.

Insisting that there is no need to be nasty to hopefuls, Natalie continued:

“It’s important not to break someone’s spirit.

But there are a lot of people who have an unrealistic view of their talent. It’s important to tell them the truth.”

Natalie is now readying herself for a full time judging role on X Factor Australia. She will be joined on the panel by Boyzone star Ronan Keating.
