X Factor 2010: Oh no! Are Twem (Samir & Mehdi) the new Jedward?
After the runaway success of the irritating Jedward twins from last year’s X factor, could the show be about to uncover another annoying sibling act?
Twin brothers Samir and Mehdi show up in tomorrow night’s episode and just like Jedward before them, wow the pants off Boyband enthusiast Louis Walsh.
They explain first tell the judges that they call themselves ‘Twem,’ which means twins in Arabic. They add:
“It means also lucky. We started singing when we were babies in the kitchen on the table with our mother. We come from Paris for the X Factor auditions. To sing in English is a big challenge for us but it’s also a very beautiful language. I really don’t know what Simon, Cheryl or Louis will think of Twem. I hope that they will like. We are determinated.(sic)”
They then perform Lady Gaga’s Just Dance.
Cheryl Cole tells the boys:
“Not the best vocals in the world but there’s something really likeable and infectious and cute about you. I actually really enjoyed it for all those reasons.”
She adds:
“You’re like the Parisian John and Edward.”
Louis Walsh added:
“You’ve definitely got the likability factor and you’re pretty good singers to sing a song like that. Simon they’re entertaining. Everybody loves them here.”
Simon despaired:
“The two monsters you created are spreading across Europe. ”
Will Simon or Louis win this battle? Are Twem through to the next round? Tune in at 7.30pm tomorrow night to find out.
