Sharon Osbourne has reportedly agreed to return to The X Factor.
The former show judge left the show in 2008, after she spent the previous series rowing with new panel member Dannii Minogue. In a subsequent interview with Piers Morgan, Sharon said:
‘I left because of Dannii Minogue. Simple as that.
‘I didn’t enjoy working with her at all and the prospect of spending six months sitting next to her, I thought “my life is better than that”.’
Insiders have today reported that Sharon is ready to rejoin the show this year and will help her old pal Louis Walsh choose his final acts during the
judges houses round.
“Sharon knows she’s only back briefly and is determined to stir things up and make mischief,” a friend of Walsh told The Sun. “She wants to have fun and make her mark on this year’s show.
“Louis is absolutely delighted that Sharon is coming back. They are great pals off screen and work well together. She is a great character with big opinions on everything and he has dearly missed having her around.
“But Sharon is also a very good mentor who will help Louis to choose his finalists and offer them great advice.”
“Louis had to clear her return with Simon Cowell who is pleased because he knows she will be good for ratings,” they said.
Since they will be filming on the other side of the world from Dannii, it is unlikely the two will meet, however we can’t imagine the Australian judge will be happy with the development.
She admitted that Osbourne made her life a misery during her first year on The X Factor, telling the Daily Mail:
”The hardest thing, having been such a fan of the show and the judges, was thinking, “Oh my God, I’m going to meet Sharon Osbourne” – then I walked into the room and she hated me. There was nothing I could do to change that, and it continued for the whole series.
‘For ages I was asking myself, “What have I done wrong?” But the answer was just being there on the show and being female.’
