X Factor 2010 spoilers: Cheryl Cole loves Stephen Hunter’s twinkly eyes!
A bulky Scotsman will make his TV debut on Saturday night’s X factor launch show.
Stephen Hunter, 41, from Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire pops up during the Glasgow auditions and tells the cameras that he is a house-husband, who enjoys looking after his dogs and chickens in his free time. Admitting that he entered the X Factor because ‘this is everything I have wanted since I was a child,’ the bubbly holistic therapy student took to the stage to sing ‘Disco Inferno’ for the judges.
After about thirty seconds of a energetic dance routine, Simon Cowell stops Steven and asks if he isever going to sing. With a wobbly lip and looking like he was about to burst into tears, Steve told Mr C:
‘Yes, I’m sorry, it’s just a really long intro.’
Finally he begins to sing and he isn’t half bad. His routine was certainly enough to impress the judges.
Geri Halliwell, who was guest judging for the day tells Steven:
“I really loved it! You have a real mixture of vulnerability and a little bit of diva.”
Cheryl Cole adds:
“What a fantastic way to kick off the new series of X Factor. I love your twinkly eyes.”
Simon Cowell concludes:
“I think you do have a really good voice. However, that little boy lost routine has to go. You’re not 16 anymore.”
After getting four yeses from the judges, Steve discos his way through to bootcamp round.

I was sitting next to Stephen at the auditions in Glasgow for about an hour while they did his interview etc. He’s a genuinely really nice guy, well done to him for getting through! I’m a bit envious that he got through and I didn’t, but the opportunity couldn’t have gone to a nicer guy.
Good luck Stephen!
