Treyc Cohen took on the first of two Take That songs planned for tonight’s X Factor show.
The 26 year old, from Stonydelph in Tamworth revealed that she had a massive panic attack after the sing off last week. Funny how she didn’t leak that story to the press this week as some other X Factor contestants have done before her!
Cheryl Cole confessed that she gave Cohen the Take That number, so that Treyc could have some fun and show some personality and she certainly did that.
We loved Treyc’s vocals tonight but her dancing left a lot to be desired. We keep imagining how Alexandra Burke would have killed this routine if she had the chance during her X Factor reign. In comparison, Treyc seemed a little but subdued.
However the singing was fantastic as always and the girl really does deserve her place on the ITV show.
Louis Walsh: A brilliant song choice. I know you got a shock last week but you came back, you’re fighting. That was a brilliant performance and I can’t find anything wrong with you. I love everything about you.
Dannii Minogue: Treyc, yay for you for getting back up there and having that energy because I know how hard it rocked you. You can sing people off that stage, this is the best you’ve ever looked. But what is your signature? We’ve had the ballads, we’ve had the rock, this week the fun but I’m not quite sure if I went to to your concert what the style is that is uniquely you.
Cheryl Cole: You’re out of order! We have to work with the themes to find what I think the best song is for Treyc. And she always delivers every single week and we have got a connection thank you very much! We have a good connection.
Simon Cowell I can’t fault that vocal. You are a great singer. The problem is, I don’t think there is a connection between you and Cheryl. At the moment, Dannii’s got a point, there isn’t a connection as a recording artist. What you’re not doing with her is turning her into a recording artist. She just someone who comes out every Saturday night, sings well, looks pretty but there’s nothing original yet. You’ve got to put some of your energies that you’re putting into the others into her, to make her stand out.
