X Factor 2011: Beheaded Lady Gaga performed Marry The Night (VIDEO)

Lady Gaga returned to the X Factor tonight, to give a live performance of her newest single ‘Marry The Night.’

The track is the fifth single from her second studio album, Born This Way, which was released earlier this year.

Gaga has previously performed the track at both the MTV EMA’s last Sunday and also at the 2011 Bambi Awards in Wiesbaden, Germany, on November 10. For that performance, the stage included a vintage convertible with a keyboard built into the side of the door, so we couldn’t wait to see what she would bring to ITV tonight. Imagine our excitement when a studio insider tweeted before the performance, to say that roadies were carrying a huge confessional box onto the stage!

The song started with Gaga inside the black veiled box and from the very first note her vocal was totally astounding. We can see why Kitty Brucknell looks up to her so, however after listening to her sing live, she must have felt ever so slightly inadequate this evening.

Lady Gaga’s stage costume was as ever very interesting. It appeared as if a beheaded Gaga was carrying her own head under her arm. It would have been more fitting during Halloween week a fortnight ago and it really reminded us of those freaky painting’s of Phoebe’s in Friends. Remember those?

Thankfully, Gaga did shed the weird getup before we got too disturbed and finished the performance in a Kitty style leotard and a very energetic dance routine.

She simply rocked!
