X Factor 2011: Craig Colton gives boring rendition of ‘License To Kill’ (VIDEO)

Craig Colton took on a massive song on tonight’s X Factor live show.

The Liverpudlian star admitted that he was worried by just how huge the number was and confessed that he would be really stretched, when he found out that Gary Barlow had chosen ‘License To Kill’, from the film James Bond: License To Kill for the movie themed episode. It turns out he had reason to be concerned.

Looking suave in a tailored suit, complete with white handkerchief in his pocket and slicked back hair, Craig started the song strongly but in the chorus we felt that his vocals were stretched slightly.

It wasn’t a bad rendition per say and his tuning was fine, but it just didn’t blow us away and combined with being first on stage this evening, we think Craig might find himself in a little bit of trouble tomorrow night.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

LOUIS WALSH: I’ve been your biggest supporter apart from Gary since day one, i love your voice, you’re a great person. The only negative thing is I don’t think it was a brilliant song choice. You’re better than that.

TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS: You sounded amazing as you always do, but I do have to agree with Louis. It was a bit predictable. Last week you blew me away so it felt like a bit of a step down.

KELLY ROWLAND: You always deliver vocally, and I just love you I really do. I really think you nailed it tonight and maybe just a little more personality….but that’s the only constructive criticism I can give you.

GARY BARLOW: This is lazy critique tonight, this is a singing competition not a song choosing competition. That was an incredible performance tonight, you completely nailed it as usual, well done mate!
