X Factor 2011 Final: Amelia Lily and Kelly Rowland perform ‘River Deep, Mountain High’ (VIDEO)
Amelia Lily and Kelly Rowland gave their first ever joint performance on tonight’s X Factor final.
The pair took to the massive Wembley stage, in front of an audience of more than £10,000 and and gave a smashing rendition of Tina Turner’s ‘River Deep, Mountain High.’
Before taking to the stage the ladies tried to convince us that they really are friends and Rowland has definitely not been a bit of a bitch to the teenager….we’re not sure we believed them!
However, tension or not, the girls performed well together and we totally loved the Tina Turner style dresses they both rocked….tassels and all!
The vocals throughout the energetic song were amazing and the vibe was totally infectious. Kelly really knows how to work a stage and an audience and little Amelia seems to be learning the trade well!
After the performance Rowland said:
“Listen to her, she is a born superstar. From her voice, to everything about her. She is so thankful to be here and she has persevered so much. I am so incredibly proud of you Amelia I really am.”
Lily replied:
“I couldn’t ask for a better mentor, this lady has been the biggest person in my life right now and she is an incredible inspiration to me. To perform on this stage with her tonight, was one of the best moments in my life.”

Best performance of the night. Iam not a fan of amelia lily but tonight she rocked
THEY KILLED IT. BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT.
duet with kelly rowland ruined amelia, chances in final
amazing.. best of the night
Teressa Fennelly you mean to say Amelia was voted off because she had a duet with Kelly? I agree with you. It was the best performance of the night, but people just can’t stand admitting that, as a result Amelia had to go. All the unnecessary hatred towards Kelly is beyond belief. She can never do anything right, although she has done nothing wrong. When other mentors do wrong they are quickly forgiven and the wrong is never mentioned. Kelly had a difficult choice to make in week one and sent Amelia home if that is where the hatred stated. However, Amelia was the weakest that night. We had James in the boys category who was brilliant, even better than Amelia l think, but he was not put through, Frank C got through instead. Why dont we get that in the news everyday? Louis and Tulisa had the easiest job that day, it was obvious who was meant to be true. Nothing much to pick from. Stop Kelly Rowland hatred now!
Amelia Lilly was amazing throughout her time in the xfactor competition. I think because everyone THOUGHT that it was a fix that she would win, and consequently people didnt vote, which actually meant that she didnt win. People’s lack of faith in the xfactor actually meant that potentially someone was deprived of her rightful crown. Hopefully however this is not the end for Amelia Lilly and that she will have an album out soon, Micha B too, and hopefully little mix too (not too fussed about Marcus… can see him being another leon jackson or joe mc elderry… but hey, i might be wrong).
Little Mix deserved to win, but so did Amelia Lilly, and Micha B.
I look forward to hearing all of thier albums out in the new year.
