X Factor 2011: Gary Barlow accuses judges of ‘tactical critique’ over Marcus Collins (VIDEO)

Marcus Collins was buzzing after last week’s X Factor show and was elated with the positive commentary from the judges, about his performance of ‘Reet petite.’

During the week he revealed that he wanted to try and capture the same magic on tonight’s Lady Gaga vs Queen themed show and he came back with his own take on Queen’s hit single ‘Another One Bites The Dust.’

The song originally reached number seven in the UK Singles Chart back in 1980.

Marcus looked sharp in a tailored grey suit this evening and he turned the Queen classic into a swing number, complete with brass band and what looked like 100 backing dancers.

He was note perfect and managed the vocals, combined with the full on dance routine brilliantly. Our only problem was that in his pre performance VT, producers made him look like he was simply a Bruno Mars copycat, which doesn’t do much for his own identity as an artist.

JUDGES COMMENTS

LOUIS WALSH: Every week you deliver, you have something incredible called charisma. You have so much charisma, you light up the stage, you’re going to be here next week, you have to be.

TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS: Marcus i love the fact that last week you pulled out this old school rock and roll vibe but it was new and this week, you’re doing it again and it becomes predictable. I’d say change it up next week.

KELLY ROWLAND: I thought this week was a really good week, but because of last week, I felt like I was watching you mock a dance step, think of vocals in your head and I want you to have more freedom on stage.

GARY BARLOW: Tactical critique that’s called Marcus, we are in the presence of a popstar. Well done!
