X Factor 2011: Gary Barlow admits lots of boys cried during judges houses – spoilers!
Gary Barlow has admitted that a number of his eight contestants, broke down and cried while performing at judges houses.
The X Factor judge took the hopefuls to LA with Robbie Williams last week, and they each got two chances to perform for the Take That stars, before a decision was made on which four would win a place on the upcoming live shows.
However, Barlow admitted that he was stunned by the amount of emotional breakdowns that occurred during the final auditions, telling Metro that the boys were ‘full on.’ He explained:
‘Usually, with the girls it’s the emotional one but, god, the boys were full on.’
‘I couldn’t believe it, there were so many tears.’
However, don’t expect to see any blubbing, crying or sobbing from Gary once the live shows get underway. He admitted that public displays of emotion aren’t really his thing, saying:
‘I won’t shed a tear. No way. It won’t happen!’
We wish he could say the same for Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos. Even Louis Walsh broke down in tears recently during Janet Devlin’s audition!
Gary may not be planning to cry, but he is planning to laugh more during future X Factor shows. He admitted that he thinks he came across as a little too serious during the audition rounds and plans to put that right this autumn. He added:
‘Watching it back, I wish I had a bit more fun in the auditions. At first, I was wondering how to come across but then I thought I’ll just go for it and not think about it.’
‘If there is a next time, I’m going to try to enjoy the auditions a bit more,’ he concluded.
