Gary Barlow is hotly tipped to be Simon Cowell’s replacement on this year’s X Factor and we think he’s the perfect choice.

The Take That frontman doesn’t only have the performing and industry experience, but he is also a talented musician and the fact that he is a five-time recipient of the Ivor Novello Award, proves that he also has genius songwriting skills.

Speaking to BBC this week, Barlow admitted that writing some of Take That’s biggest hit singles was ‘easy’ because he pens a different song every day.

He added:

“This is an easy job, it’s like working as your hobby.”

He also refuses to get stressed over the band’s current success and the fact that he may be about to join the UK’s most popular TV show, because he knows what real pressure is like. Gary explained:

“I know how it feels to sit in a studio with nobody interested in what you’re coming out with next – that’s pressure, this isn’t.”

Barlow – who is about to embark on Take That’s Progress Tour – also detailed how he came up with the band’s hit singles, during their first taste of fame in the nineties.

He said: “I’d get call from the record label and they’d be looking for a first single for the new record and would give me a week.

“I’d call them back two hours later and play Back For Good down the phone. It was so casually done.”
