X Factor 2011: Gary Barlow will NOT be a judge!
Gary Barlow has denied rumours that he is in talks to become an X Factor judge.
The Take That star was thought to be ‘days away’ from signing a deal worth £2 million with Simon Cowell and reported to be keen to join the ITV reality TV show, when it returns later this year.
A source told Star magazine that Cowell was keen to hire Barlow, because of not only his performing experience, but also because he manages his own record label. They said:
“Gary let it be known that he was definitely interested.
“The show’s bosses are really keen on Gary – they know he is highly knowledgeable about music, and probably more reliable than Robbie.
“Simon really respects Gary – as far as Simon is concerned, he is the perfect person to mentor the groups – not only because of his experience within the industry but because he knows both sides of fame.”
However, Barlow’s people have today issued a statement saying there is ‘no truth’ in the rumours and Gary will NOT be replacing Simon this autumn.
