X Factor 2011: Judges FIGHT over Rhythmix’s non rock performance of Tik Tok & Push It (VIDEO)
Rhythmix impressed a worldwide superstar last week, when they performed Nelly Furtado’s ‘I’m Like A Bird’ on the X Factor live show.
The girl group were tweeted by the singer, after she watched their performance on Youtube, and loved their version of her hit single….so they had a lot to live up to tonight.
This evening, the five piece vocal harmony group took on Tick Tock by Kesha which moved into Push It by Salt N Pepa.
They gave a great performance and we loved the light up podiums and backing dancers that spiced things up on stage.
However, neither song were really rock tracks and we were a little confused by Tulisa’s choices. They would have worked in Chart week, maybe, rap week, possibly…rock week? Really not. They also looked like charity shop rejects again in awful outfits according to StyleJacking.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
LOUIS WALSH:Girls all I can say is I love this band, brilliant song choices but not really rock. I loved it, I love the fact that there is natural chemistry between you four girls. That’s why girls have to vote for you, I really think again you have two great acts left, these girls could be really really big.
KELLY ROWLAND: You ladies sound really great together, I still think the look needs pulling together, which you guys, I can tell you are definitely working on that. Here’s the thing, I really want you guys to be better than the last female group that was here. Be better, be ten times better. Also Tulisa you should take back your comment about not being rock….because that wasn’t rock!
GARY BARLOW: Well done tonight it was a very nice performance but Tulisa, I don’t think you’ve quite understood the challenge this week, the theme is rock music ok. Not taking a pop track and putting a guitar on it. Taking a rock track, that wasn’t a rock track.
TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS: It said rock week not rock songs.

I have to agree with Gary. This is supposed to be ROCK WEEK! Rhythmix were rapping for half the song, no sign of rock! Sophie looked the part, had a great song choice, was really hoping she’d pull it off, then she just stood there & turned it into a ballard, I give up!Louis is really getting on my nerves even more than usual. Why the hell was he kept on?!?! Should have brought Danni back with the new judges. Oh, and just a thought, but they should have asked Suzie Quatro to give them some tips on what ‘rock’ means! She’s still THE best rock chick. Really disappointed with this weeks show, AGAIN!!
