X Factor 2011: Kelly Rowland will still mentor Amelia Lily
Amelia Lily has claimed that Kelly Rowland will still mentor her, despite the fact that she was eliminated from The X Factor last night.
The 16 year old performer was visibly devastated and broke down in tears on yesterday’s results show, as the Destinys Child star revealed that she had chosen her to leave the competition.
Although today she confessed that she still fells like her heart has been ‘ripped out,’ Lily claims that it’s not all bad news as the American singer has promised to stand by her.
She told Darlington and Stockton Times:
“It is literally the hardest thing you could possibly ever go through in your life. It is like having your heart ripped out.
But Kelly has vowed to help and Amelia added:
“She said that I don’t need this to get where I want to be.
“She said I need to be doing my own stuff and not coming on the stage every week doing covers because I’m already game ready.
“She also said that I’m gonna be worldwide, so I couldn’t ask for better feedback from her.
“She said to me ‘I’m still your mentor, Amelia, even if you’re not in the competition any more, you ring me, you text me, you email me whenever you want for advice and I’ll always be here’, and I really appreciate that from her.”
Amelia admitted today, during an interview on This Morning that she suspects Kelly has a soft spot for Janet Devlin and was probably never going to eliminate the Northern Irish singer.
She also took time to deny recent rumours about her and Frankie Cocozza and insisted that she is NOT dating the 18 year old Brighton born star.

I totally agree with Amelia. Even if she didn’t say it now, many of us knows already that Kelly Rowland does have a soft spot for Janet Devlin. It goes without saying.
I’m extremely sad to see Amelia go. But, I hope this will only push her even further.
Why all this Janet hate?????? She RULES. Amazing voice.
Amelia’s song choice was bad, I mean any other song but billie jean! Seriously. Poor Amelia. But she does have a great voice, she could make it another way.
You mean Janet ‘I want to be Diana Vickers’ Devlin. Listen back to back recordings of both of those girls with a blindfold on and see if you can tell the difference. Very affected ‘cracked’ and annoying singing style.
I thought the judge/mentor chooses the song for the contestants? Therefore, it isn’t fair to blame Amelia Lily for a bad song choice.
Judging by the press and comments everywhere it now sounds as though everyone is realizing the mistake that was made by this extremely unfair voting twist, and maybe there’ll be another twist yet to come. For now I think Amelia may be better off forging a serious career for herself without the baggage that X Factor can bring, judging by her huge fan base already she won’t have any problems doing that.
i like amelia but to be fair how many x factor contestants eliminated in the early stages actually make it???
