X Factor 2011: Marcus Collins sings ‘Lately’ at Gary Barlow Royal Albert Hall concert (VIDEO)

Marcus Collins had his singing ban lifted last night and was allowed to perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall, as the special guest of his mentor Gary Barlow.

The Take That star fronted his first two solo concerts in ten years in the historic venue this week, all in aid of British charity The Princes Trust and yesterday he asked his X Factor contestant to give a performance for the crowd, which included some members of the Royal family.

William and Kate – The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge – and Prince Charles and Camilla watched on as Collins sang the Stevie Wonder classic ‘Lately’.

The Liverpudlian star wore a tailored tux with tails for the occasion and looked elated to be performing for such an acclaimed audience and after his song he tweeted his followers saying:

Best night of my life I love Gary and our amazing team and especially our fans can’t wait to see you tomorrow what a show we got planned x

Gary Barlow added:

What a night!Amazing.was so nice to meet the royal family.loved playing live this week.thankyou for all supporting me and the princestrust.

And thanks to my amaZing fans for buying tickets and being the best audience EVER !!!!

Today Marcus and Gary are heading to Liverpool and tonight Colins will perform for a crowd in his hometown.
