X Factor 2011 Results: Kitty Brucknell leaves – judges save Misha B again!
Kitty Brucknell was finally eliminated from the X Factor, on tonight’s live results show.
The Lady Gaga impersonator saw her dreams come true, when she met the ‘Marry The Night’ hitmaker backstage earlier in the evening, but her hopes were dashed again when she discovered that the public were not behind her and she was in the bottom two for the third time.
Worse still, Kitty found herself in the sing off against the competition’s strongest singer Misha B. She didn’t stand a chance.
Brucknell performed ‘Over The Rainbow’ as her save me song and to all the judges who told her to give a stripped back performance on the live shows, she proved exactly how wrong they were. Her tuning was terrible and though the version improved on the big notes, Kitty just doesn’t have the emotion needed to carry this song.
On the other hand Misha stormed the stage to perform her cover of Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ and by singing such a current and contemporary song, proved just what a great artist she has the potential to be.
She brought emotion, feeling as well as a pretty darn fine vocal to the performance and completely wiped the floor with that blonde one who sang first.
After the sing off the judges commented:
LOUIS: Two incredible emotional performances from two amazing singers. I am Kitty’s mentor, so I have to save Kitty and send Misha B home.
TULISA: Both of you girls are amazingly talented, that was a dramatic showdown. But I want to see the person who I can relate to as a musician, so I am sending Kitty home.
GARY: What an amazing sing off. If you were to ask me which two people want this the most it would be you two. Kityy I have always been a fan but the connection with the audience isn’t there. The weird thing is with you Misha, you would be signed by a record label first. The act I’m sending home is Kitty.
KELLY: I really believe in this young lady and I want people to vote for her. Misha is wonderful and I think that you are a great talent but I am going to have to send you home.
And So Kitty was a goner!
After the result was revealed, she said:
“I have something I want to share with the audience if I can….”
And she launched into an impromptu rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way.’ Of course she was making a point, as she’d wanted to perform the track last night but Misha B got her hands on it first…we still think Misha did it better!

KITTY SHOULD’VE STAYED!
Kitty should have stayed it looks like the vote was fixed and I wonder does someone have a grudge against Kitty Brucknell.
should go to deadlock!!!be fair!!!
You guys in the UK are having one of the greatest contestants we could ever imagine in these type of show -Misha B! And then, you put her in the bottom 2….. Weird!
Misha b is not liked it’s as simple as the judges can push her as much as they like but the public ain’t voting she’ll not make the final
I cant understand why people don’t see how creative Misha B’s is. She has got a lovely personality too. I have been listening to music for a long time and she has a fantastic voice and will probably get a record deal . I cant wait to hear her with some progressive recording
Misha is very talented granted but personality is lacking I’m afraid – she doesn’t come across too convincingly – more a diva style and a bit in your face. Work on that side and yes no doubt about it she can have a great future.
Kitty was the best, she sung her song beautifully. Misha b is crap!!!! Kitttty should get a record lable.
Misha was not superior this time. She was screamy and started the song way too high for her range, while Kitty did not have tuning problems. If the judges were fair, it would have gone to deadlock.
So they eliminated the last interesting act on the show? are they serious? Kitty might not have started out in the most positive light, at the beginning she looked she’ll be as terrible ss last year’s katie Waissel, however she proved that not only can she sing, but she has actually a likeable personality as well (true, not perfect, but still).
I guess people would now be bored to death by the contestants that managed to turn a Dance week theme and a Lady Gaga vs Queen week into a snoozefest.
If the judges were objective, Kitty would still be there. This comes from someone who wanted her axed right from the start. As weeks went on, I became more and more convinced of her ability. Misha was poor tonight. In reality, the producers are trying to force a Misha victory. Perhaps it’s because of her ethnic background I’m not sure. I noticed in a particularly poor tabloid paper that Misha got one of the lowest public ratings on the web polls yet the paper printed only positive comments. Marcus, who got the highest public rating on the web polls (by quite a distance) got two negative comments (apparently more ‘West End’ than Wembley).
If I’m honest, I really do believe do believe part of the reason she is continually saved is her race and musical roots rather than her ability. Tulisa said herself, the reason Misha got her vote was because she ‘liked her musical roots’. The whole point of the sing-off is that it’s one last chance to throw all the shackles away and prove the better singer. What is the point in having a sing-off if Tulisa has already made her mind up? This is the problem with having some 23 year old Z list celebrity from a band nobody gives a crap about. I’ve never been a big X Factor fan, but I now realize why the ratings are lower than ever. Simon Cowell was honest. Sharon Osbourne was honest. Even Danni Minogue was fairly useful. This year, you have :
Louis Walsh – Useless ever since he started.
Tulisa – Total joke. Z list celebrity. Pretty atrocious singer in all honesty and totally biased.
Kelly Rowland – See Tulisa but include self-fulfilling prophecy.
Gary Barlow – Wasn’t even the best singer in his own band and hasn’t got the bottle to say the truth. Bottles it every time.
Misha B saved because of her colour…err…na..
Misha is one of the best x factors ever had!
Maybe, just maybe she’s. In the bottom two again..because of her colour..!
Misha is too good for xfactor! Like cher lloyd on last season!
Kitty should have been saved by the judges.Misha has no personality and very poor communication skills. She just dosnt have the xfactor.Although i didnt like kitty at the start of the show fair is fair Kitty sang Over the Rainbow beautifully. She was much better than Misha at the sing off. What is happening to this show.Amelia is brought back now at this stage.Sophie must be really feeling good about this and all the other contestants who progressed further into the show but they didnt get a chance to come back. What a mess this show is thanks to dreadful judges!!!
Umm wasn’t Kitty in the bottom two three times? Why wouldn’t the judges save Misha over Kitty? I really don’t get all the shade that people in the UK give Misha B. I hope she is off the show soon because she doesn’t deserve the negative comments and hatred coming her way.
X factor is becoming beyond a joke now, its on a crash course. Although bringing an act back probably did boost the ratings in the short term, in the long term it just makes this season look even more farcical.
It seems someone is not getting the memo. Whoever makes these themes tries their best to force these singers to do fun big interesting songs.
But all Janet Craig and Marcus seem to want to do is take them and “make them their own” which used to be a good thing but now means, make them sound like every other song you’ve sung.
And the judges are unreal. Gary and Louis are two opposites of the same coin. Gary’s acts arent that good but he preaches like their amazing.
Louis actually had 2 good acts, Sami and Kitty, but his defence of them whenever they were attacked was so lack lustre. He even admitted he didnt want his own act (Jonjo) back.
X factor producers try to control the outcome so much, out of fear the public choose the act to win thats not meant to win, see Jai Britians got talent 2011. So they desperately try and manage and control everything but all their doing is going against the publics wishes.
It’s quite likely that one of Janet, Marcus or Craig will win, but when they do, there careers will flop, they have no longevity. They are merely another, Steve, Leon, Joe or Matt.
The fun talented acts last year were Cher and One Direction, but the top 2 were so unbearably dull, and look what happened.
Swagger Jagger = #1
With ur love =#4
What makes you beautiful = #1
Matt cardles song didnt even come in the top 5, and crashed out of the top 40 spectaculary after only a few weeks and yet he was supposedly the best one.
As for ms ferguson coming back next week, Im calling it now, she wont be #1, she probably wont even be top 5, she could fail to make top 10.
I was agreeing with everything you were saying throughout the text until you said that Rebecca Ferguson was “undearably dull” and that her song won’t certainly have the same success as One Direction and Cher Lloyd. Rebecca’s song is actually the best and her voice is quite unique and amazing and she doesn’t look like a chav
three strikes you’re out for kitty…too bad (i was starting to like her) but come back to reality, to be in the bottom, EVERYONE is beating you. That means something. Misha’s got 2-3 weeks left tops. I still don’t get why Kitty wanted a song that got the other person in the bottom 2 with her. Think about that. If she should have been jealous of anyones song it should have be Amelias as it showcases her strong suit. Back to the drawing board I guess.
After Judges house, there were 3 acts that interested me – Kitty, Misha B, and Amelia. As you can imagine, this has been a pretty confusing week! Kitty puts on a great show, and I hope she gets picked up, but I never got the sense of her own image, she was felt like a cover act, which is a huge shame. Misha has been a star from the start, with a very clear identity, and it is her turn to shine. While I had hopes that kitty would turn it around, the right act was saved.
My only concern now is what a few weeks of X Factor do to Amelia – I would hate to see the life ripped out of her performances with the usual X factor slowed down dirgeful-ballad remixes. Maybe I’m getting too cynical for this show though
I think Misha *had* a clear identity but they’ve changed that somewhat in during the last two Saturdays. It’s usual that if an act they want to keep is in the bottom two they restyle them, (often to ‘soften’ their image) but on Saturday they made her look middle aged. I don’t think the public in general are going to change their mind but I bet Misha gets a recording contract anyway.
Plus you can never be too cynical for this show.
Could not stand Kitty from first moment. A publicity whore, desperate to do anything for fame, remember she is already a full time singer – thats her job. If she was really talented she would have already made it.
Anybody with a brain can read her like a book, she exhibits every loathsome personality trait possible. I hope she fades into oblivion soon, just an awful person with a loud shouty nasal voice – good ridance.
It’s a shame. Both are talented in their own way. Apart from the first week I think Kitty’s been pretty good and at least she wasn’t boring.
