The X Factor semi final kicks off tomorrow night and ITV have finally confirmed the theme.

Two times in recent weeks This Morning presenter Jeff Brazier has claimed that the contestants would be singing songs fitting with a Motown theme and though both times producers changed their mind at the last minute, this week we finally will get to hear a bit of soul. This week’s theme will be ‘Motown’ and ‘The Song To Get You To The Final’.

ITV reports that all four final acts – Misha B, Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily and Little Mix – will be performing two songs each on Saturday’s live show. Both will be inspired by the ‘soulful 60s & 70s and their own favourite tunes.’

The theme will be a great fit for Marcus Collins, who has already performed a variety of tunes from that era and we can see Misha B’s vocals lending well to a great, belting soul number.

Amelia Lily, we think, could pull it off with the right song choice and it would be nice to hear Little Mix doing a more traditional song, though we admit it could be a bit risky for them.

It has also been confirmed that there will be no sing off and no judges save tomorrow night, so connecting with the public and choosing the right track will be more important than ever.
